Mother's DayI

We enjoyed a quiet low key Mother's Day. Amelia woke up before 6am (happy day). So I was up and at em pretty early. :) Soon after she woke up I notice she had a bit of a fever. She is cutting her 13th tooth right now... I am pretty sure. We were going to go out for pizza but Deric ended up ordering and bringing it back home. After Amelia took a morning nap she seemed to feel a bit better but still had a low grade fever. We played outside and took some photos but that is about it. I did get to relax in the sun for a bit while Deric played with Amelia.

I couldn't be more proud to be Amelia's mom. I have also dreamed of what my family would be like when I got married and I am truly living it. I am blessed beyond measures to have Deric as my husband. He is truly my best friend and soul mate. Having Amelia as our first born made our future that much better. She is our shinning light.

Amelia is a good combo of being a momma's / daddy's girl. It is nice she really doesn't prefer one of us over the other. I will say she falls to sleep on Deric almost every night ;). But she seem to lay down on her own better when I take her to bed.

She has been really REALLY lovey these past few weeks. She cracks us up. Always leaning over to give us "sugars" or hugs out of the blue.... melts our hearts.  You can see in this photo she is good at kisses! She nearly knocks me over, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

After our fun in the sun we all took naps! It was so nice. Amelia and I snuggled up on the couch while Deric watched golf and it puts us to sleep every time! ;) After we woke up I got to skype with my mom. She is in Florida right now visiting her parent and my Aunt Pat  (lives in SD) and her family is there too. So I got to see them all. It was nice that I got to "see" them all. It is was so sweet to see my grandma's face light up when she saw Amelia. I really need to get Amelia and I back to see them soon.

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful and fun Easter! What a great way to celebrate our Lord!
We got up let Amelia open her basket of goodies and headed to church. After church we did take a few photos of lil miss in her dress ( yes, I made it). I wish we would have gotten one of the three of us.. :( I not only made Amelia's dress but also cute ruffle skirt!!
At 11 met up with two of my co-workers and their families at the park for an egg hunt and picnic! It was fun to see Amelia hunt eggs. She was
Doing good for about 10 or so eggs but then was done!
Remember Farrah??? The baby I kept for a while before I got Pregnant with Amelia?? Well she is now 2 and cute! She and Lil A play pretty good together!

After the park we came home for a much needed nap for Amelia. Deric watched the "masters" and I.. Well I don't remember! Anyhow, what I do know is that I have been packing and gettin ready for Amelia and I to head to Indiana for almost 2 weeks! My bestie is getting hitched and we are both in the wedding!

Sun cutie

After a whole week of rain and storms
we finally got some wonderful weather by the weekend!! We really didn't do much this past week because if the yucky storms but we did go Gymboree class and went and played with Lincoln (our buddy across the street).
This weekend was great! Deric and I ha a fun date night Saturday. My best friend came over to keep Amelia. Val just adores Amelia and that always makes leaving her for a few hours easier! Deric and I went to see "21 Jump Street" first then went to dinner at "Bonefish" and ended our night at Starbucks for a nice decaf latte! Perfect date!
Today (Sunday) we went to church. We went back to Fellowship today... It just felt right. We haven't been to happy at FBC. We loved our Sunday school class but not so much the worship . So it was time to change. Anyhow, after church we came home and I put ribs in the crockpot while Deric went to hit
Golf balls. Amelia took a 2 hour nap while I sewed. We went for a walk, ate those yummy yummy ribs. Then finished the night with a family walk! I got Amelia in the bath, read a few books and out she went! Busy girl today!
I really am planning to do a post on what all Amelia is doing now... She is crazy smart (of course)! We just can't get enough of our princess!

Petting Zoo

We had such a fun filled day today! This morning we had a new friend over for a play date! Jolie is just 4 months older than Amelia. The girls seemed to play well together. Amelia wasn't so sure at first what to think of another kid playing with her stuff! Thankfully she was always really sweet to our new friend and they ended up having a blast! We have already planned for more fun dates!
After lunch we packed up and headed over to our safari/petting zoo in a neighboring town. My "AR mom" joined us as well as her daughter as grand-daughter who are here from
FL. Amelia LOVED the zoo! She went crazy!! And we couldn't have picked a better day to go! I was 83 out and just beautiful!!!
We let the babies sleep in the car on the way over but they woke up right when we pulled it. Amelia knew it was fun time!! We went straight for the baby animals that were out! I wish I would have videoed her. All she did was say "awwww baby"! Cutest thing ever! I didn't let her hold any of them but she was happy just to pet and look!

We did the drive through part last. We enjoyed a snack and the air conditioning! We let Amelia sit up front so she could see the animals better. Of course she thought that was pretty neat!

We will be taking her back I am sure!
We will have to take Daddy next time!

Spring is in the Air

I seriously can not believe our mild winter! We have been so lucky to missed any bad winter storms!
Today couldn't have been a more perfect day! It was almost 80 degrees out. I was so happy it was one of my normal days off!
We have had nice weather this whole week so we have been spending as much time outside as we can. :) here is a few iPhone pics to keep y'all updated!
* the only outfit I didn't make was the butterfly tunic. My sweet MIL bought that for Amelia. I have been in a sewing mood again... :)

Snow and Sweethearts

I have just been playing with Amelia every moment of the day. I can not get enough of her lately. She is just a doll and at such a fun stage! So there is my reasoning for not keeping up the blog. Even when she naps I could blog but I am either cleaning up messes, sewing, getting dinner around, or maybe even getting a shower in peace! Let me tell you the shower will last at least 20 minutes!

Our weeks have been a bit crazy. Deric was traveling for work  for a few days last week. So Amelia and I had some fun girl time. I decided I wanted to check out a few "gyms" for Amelia. She is so active now she needs to burn some energy.  Since she doesn't go to MDO or daycare she needed more play time with other toddlers. She goes to church nursery but doesn't always do so well so we have been really bad about going to church theses days. I think it is because the time we drop  her off is just about her lunch time and then nap. Plus we aren't going every Sunday so that throws her off. We need to work on that. :)

Anyhow, I took her to "Gymboree" first and she loved it! Amelia jumped right into the fun and had to be the center of attention. The very next day I took her to "Little Gym" she also had a wonderful time and knew what to do a little more so I think she had more fun. Little Gym is closer to our house but the monthly fee is a bit more and the open play times do not work with my work schedule so we went with Gymboree. Gymboree works great with my schedule and they even have a evening play time so Deric and I can take Amelia together some!

We didn't get to go this past Monday because we had a bit of a "snow" storm so the gym was closed. I say it like that because most of ya'll know I am from Indiana and this southern winter isn't really winter most of the time! Schools were closed and so was everything else in town for not even 3 inches of snow!  I did take the chance to get Amelia in her snowsuit and snap some photos. It was really cold out so we stayed outside for maybe 5 minutes! We bought her snowsuit while we were home for Christmas in case we had a big winter storm like last year. I don't think we will get it since it is now it is back n the 50's! It is fine with me!

Our Valentines Day was spent at home with the three of us! It was perfect! I made dinner for us and cheesecake for desert. Amelia and I got Deric a Kuerig.... he has wanted one forever and I figured it was time! Deric brought me home flowers and gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure! I am planning on using that next week when he get back from another business trip! I will need it!

We didn't really get anything for Amelia. She did get some things from her grandparents and her Aunt Jen. So I figured she was just fine. I did buy her these ADORABLE sparkley shoes!!! I couldn't resit. Not only do they fit her tiny feet but she can walk and run in them really well. I have had the hardest time finding cute shoes for her. She is just barley fitting into a size 3. They are a  bit big so she usually wears her size 2 shoes.
I made her a sensory box the day it snowed so I did buy her a few toys for her box.

All of these photos expect the snow one were taken with my iphone... I need to get better at taking photos with our real camera! I also got back Amelia's photos from her birthday photo shoot so I will post them later. Maybe this weekend! HA

HAPPY FEBRUARY!

I have been really slacking in the blogging department. But I have been enjoying every moment with our ONE YEAR OLD! Amelia has really grown up in the last couple of weeks. I can't believe how much she has turned into a toddler. It is very bittersweet!

I did however manage to whip up the cutest little jeans ever! I have had the material for a while and I knew I wanted to make these jeans. But  I knew I needed to wait until Amelia was walking really good. Because you can see the cuteness better!

I ordered Amelia's shirt from a local lady. She does a great job! She also did Amelia's first birthday shirt. I love that I can get away with dressing Amelia up however I want for now! I am sure she will look back at her photos and just roll her eyes at her outfits! We all did and still do!
