Fireworks

This past Sunday we took Amelia to a huge Fourth of July celebration at Cross Church. Our neighbors down the street from us invited us out with there group. We don't go to church there and had never been to the firework show so it was nice knowing we had a spot to hang out at until the show started. We had to wait about 3.5 hours before it started. Amelia couldn't have been a better kid! She didn't get upset about waiting at all.
They had live music and all kinds of food venders and a play area for the kids.
There were some other kiddos in our group so they kept each other entertained.
The fireworks started right after they baptized 100 people... Yes 100! Once it turned dark the show went on for about 40 mins! I couldn't believe how long they were.

Everyone I knew that goes every year talks about how great the show it. It was amazing.. I couldn't believe it. Amelia enjoyed herself to the fullest! She kept saying "this is so cool!, "I'm not scared!", "awesome colors".  Deric and I enjoyed watching Amelia's reaction more than anything I think. We have never taken her to the fireworks. She saw a few of them last year from our deck. So this year she was thrilled to be right there.

Thanks to our sweet neighbors for the invite!! We had so much celebrating our country's freedom!!

Father's Day

We had a relaxing day hanging at home, watching golf, going for shaved ice, and grilling out! I tried to keep Amelia from waking up Deric to early but alas she won. She insisted on taking Deric is card right away! I know he was happy to be greeted by her sweet face but I assume he would have liked to sleep in a bit too.

We relaxed in the morning and before Amelia's nap we went for shaved ice. We went a lot last year and it never disappointed. We let Amelia get her own this time because Dad's ate for free. Amelia preferred to eat out of ours the whole time. She enjoyed the treat and was asleep before we made it back home.

Deric fired up the grill for the steaks durning nap while I made sweet potatoes and pasta salad. Lunch was so good and I ate way to much. After Amelia woke up and ate some late lunch we headed to our friends house.

Our old neighbors little boy turned 2 last week and his party was over the weekend. We opted to wait to give him his gift because his momma requested no gifts. We didn't follow the rules completely but she knew we already got him a gift. Saw-dog got a bubble mower from Amelia. I am pretty sure he loves it. Amelia had to get one also. So they played in their backyard and "mowed" almost the whole yard. Amelia even blew the "grass" off the patio. Such a sweet helper!

I hope Deric enjoyed his low key day! It may be crazy next year with two little girls around. But for now we will just enjoy our first sweet girl!

Daddy and our girl last year on Father's Day. I can't believe how much she has grown! She looks huge now!

Deric, thank you for being such a great daddy! I wouldn't have expected any other than the best from you. Truly, you are the best husband and daddy! You are my better half. The calmer when I am "unglued" by the end of the day. I am so thankful I snagged you up almost 13 years ago! We love you!

Drum Roll....

It's a GIRL!! I am so excited about have 2 girls! I loved /love having a older sister! I just pray our girls love each other just as much as my sister and I! I feel like there is nothing better than a sister!
Deric may be feeling a little out numbered but there is no doubt in my mind that baby girl 2 will steal her daddy's heart!

Everything looks great with her. She is measuring right on schedule and kicking up a storm. I am loving her little movements! I can't help but wonder how much she looks like her big sis... Or how different they will be. All I know now is that she is healthy and un-named... We will be working on that! :)

Weeks 7-14 baby #2

Lets just say this pregnancy started a little rough and scary. I was sick before I even was for sure I was pregnant and it hasn't really slowed down any. It is all worth it though and the Zofran is very helpful. :)
Beside being sick all day I had some scary spotting between 8.5 wk-10wk. I was terrified. I had some earlier on too. I ended up calling the "on call center" the weekend of Easter to make sure I didn't need go to the ER. The nurse told me to stay completely of my feet for the weekend . It just so happened Deric's family were on their way for the week so we had lots of help with Amelia and keeping the old house clean (we are
Trying to sell it)!
My doctor saw me first thing Monday morning and she thought I was popping blood vessels. I was on a mild bed rest for a few weeks. I did go to work and sat on a stools most of the day while I did hair! But I was off of work for a week and a half . It worked out pretty good. Thankfully once I hit 11-12 week the bleeding had stopped and I felt pretty normal besides the pukey days.
Here are some ultrasound photos and bump photos I have so far. I am going to start my normal weekly photos this week. I have to add this funny story. When we had our first ultrasound at 6.5 weeks Amelia shouted "my baby sister in the HOLE!!" Deric and I about died with laughter! She still insists she is having a baby sister! We may know this week!
