Christmas Eve 2013

Merry Christmas to our readers! Hope you all have a blessed Holiday!

Our Christmas plans this year are very different from what we are used to. We would normally be at one of our parents houses... Not this year. We decided this year we would be home. With a 8week old (tomorrow) traveling 12+ hours was not a option we wanted to tackle. To be honest I am super excited to be home! Amelia is so into the holiday this year. I know it will be so hard to get her to go to bed tonight. But waking up in our house and it just being the 4 of us will be nice... Making memories.  We will miss being with our families but there is something to be said about new tradtions. I know it will be harder and harder to travel at Christmas . Loading all the gifts and packing for a week to add to the stress. I want the girls to enjoy and have the magic of Christmas  and where we don't have to come up with why Santa knows where they are at. I am sure we will travel again to see family but maybe we will always wake up at home ... Who knows. All I want is a non-stress day and enjoy our little family.

We have done all the fun activities I wanted to do with Amelia. We went to see Santa, baked cookies, make crafts, had a cookies decorating party with friends, watched Christmas movies, went to look at lights and today we made cookies for Santa and reindeer food!

We have been busy! I have enjoyed every moment of it... Even though baking with a almost 3 year old can add stress!
It doesn't look like Amelia enjoyed her visit with Santa but she did! She told him all about what she wanted for Christmas... Roller skates. Hopefully he brings her knee and elbow pads plus a helmet!

Here are the girls after church this past Sunday. Amelia went in her classroom and had fun! She said she can't wait to go back... Christmas miracle!
Tonight we are planning on Christmas Eve  service at church and then hopefully a earlier bed time! Santa's helpers may be up all night assembling toys!
I can't wait to see Amelia's face tomorrow morning! This year is going to be so much fun!!

Aliza is so sweet! I forgot about all the new sweetest that comes with a newborn. The exictiment when she finally caught my face the first time and when she turns her head towards our voices.

Aliza ~
You are a bit of a Momma's girl. You like others by as soon as your hear my voice you want fuss. untill I hold you. You are pretty laid back. You'll be wide awake and perfectly happy laying or sitting looking around. Your big sister love you and you love her! You always are trying to look for her when Amelia is talking/screaming/singing!

At night you get a little more fussy than normal. I think you have gas belly.... Sorry sweetie! Some gas drops and you feel better in no time!
I still can't believe some days we have two sweet girls! We have our hard days but we have more great days than bad. We love you so much! Thankful we get to be your parents!

Our weekend

We had a fun weekend even though we have some stuffy noses and sleep devorived parents.
Friday we had a birthday party to attend for our neighbor/friend. We celebrated at "little giggles" for his 2nd birthday

This place is so neat! I have posted about it before.  They have all kinds of fun stuff for the tots!

After the party we went to our friends house to watch the movie "planes". Amelia has been waiting and waiting to see this movie. Our friends have a pretty awesome theatre room. It was a good trial run for Amelia. We plan on taking her to her first movie theatre visit this weekend!
Saturday night we had grandma Marcia come stay with Aliza so we could take Amelia on a date. The lighting of "the lights if the Ozarks" was held Saturday night. The fayettville square is beautiful when all lit up. We knew Amelia would be thrilled to see it.

They also had a parade... That was a bit lame and way to long! It was freezing cold out but Amelia was a trooper! After the parade we headed straight to the pony rides and then home. We were all freezing by the time we walked what seemed miles back to the car!

Sunday we got our  Christmas tree up and we decorated it last night. I usually knock out all the decorating in a day but this year it has been harder. For one thing I am still only 3.5 weeks post surgery and two having a toddler help takes much longer. Good thing I got a head start on it this year. This is the first time ever the tree has been up before Thanksgiving!  I think I had the itch to get it up just as much as Amelia! :)

Sweet sisters in front of our tree today.
My OB asked to have the girls pose with her for a Christmas photo that is going on her cards for the clinic. So we were all decked out in Christmas outfits! Nothing sweeter than seeing Amelia love on her baby sis.

I am so happy to get to see my parents this weekend. They will be here Wednesday night through the weekend. My dad hasn't met Aliza yet! :)

I still can't believe my eyes some days when I look at my TWO sweet girls! How blessed we are to have them both! I never thought my heart could be so full of love! I thank the Lord everyday for my wonderful husband and my two sweet girls. I pray they grow up to be the best of friends!

Amelia's Christmas list

Amelia is really into Christnas this year! I get a kick out her exictiment! Just the other day we were at Hobby Lobby picking up some Christmas decor and she would yell "wook, baby
Jesus! He is everywhere for his birthday!"
She was trying to pick up every ceramic figure of Him... Meanwhile I was nursing Aliza! It was a sight to say the least! I kept telling Amelia to "leave baby Jesus alone... He wants to nap!" I was afraid we would have to buy a whole center rack of broken Jesus'!  Haha

I love that she is starting to understand more and more that Christmas is about Jesus and his birthday, but she also is well aware that Stana is coming Christmas Eve. I am trying to hard to find a good balance between the two and make sure she knows it is about Jesus more than Stana.... It's hard!

She got a glimps of Santa at the mall last weekend when she was on a date with daddy. She just waved at him that day. We told her we would go back to visit and give him her Christmas list.

So yesterday, we headed to target to get some ideas for her list. It is already pretty long for not even a 3 year old!
She was beyond thrilled to cruise the isles and take her time looking at everything!
She is OBESSED with roller skates so that is her number 1 item... Santa must bring them!

She also saw a  Minnie Mouse scooter. She  said  "I could probably roll through the neighborhood on that awesome thing" haha

She is really into Doc McStuffins, but what toddler isn't! She found all the Doc toys and wanted them all!
I thought this drs jacket would be great because she loves to play dress up!

She also tells us almost everyday Santa is going to  "bring her a grill" which sounds like girl :) . This threw me off at first! I had no clue what "girl" she was talking about until she said " like the one daddy has outside!" Hahah (Palm to the head)

She also thinks Santa is going to bring her a train table.  She really enjoys playing with her friend's tables so she thinks she needs one.

And a big thanks to Saturday morning cartoons and commercials she now thinks she needs a "Flippie"! These silly hats have a pump on them to make the ears flip up and down. She can't really make them work, but she is sure she is getting one ...ugh

I am sure the list will be added to everyday until Christmas Eve! It is always fun to hear what she adds. She has even started a list for baby sister... Which is stuff she really wants! ;) ohh my sweet Amelia!
