Snuggle Day

When Deric woke up this morning he noticed our furnace was not working. Great....  NWA is suppose to get a winter storm starting tonight. He tried to clean a sensor on it. This happened about this time last year and it was a simple fix of cleaning. Well, it didn't start working after that. So he came home for a really early lunch to check it again and to call a service man to come out. The guy finally showed up about 2:30 this afternoon. He came and fixed the heater... which a sensor just needed to be cleaned. Deric must not have cleaned it off enough. I hated that we had to pay 75 bucks for someone to come clean it when Deric knew what was wrong with it the whole time. But I guess it was better we had someone come to look at it to make sure nothing was wrong with it.
We had a space heater so Amelia and I snuggled in our jammys and blankets for pretty much all day!

Divot and Amelia had some "play" time today also.... He just loves  her soft blankets!

Her little face... cracks me up!

We even took a short nap together on the couch

When Daddy got home he put Amelia on her belly for tummy time. She is already so strong. She will hold her head up already.. has been doing it since last week! She is big stuff for a 2 week old!  Deric also went out to Wal-Mart to get stocked up for the winter storm. He was so nice of him to go after he worked all day. I told him I would go and he could stay with little A. But I really didn't want to go and I think he knew that!

Tomorrow if the weather isn't  too bad Amelia has her two week check-up.I hope we can make it and the office is open. I know Amelia is good and well but I just want to make sure. Just like I would poke all the time at my belly to stir her up... just to make sure. I still can't believe our princess is 2 weeks old already. I feel like time is just flying by.

On Our Own

Yesterday was such a BEAUTIFUL day in NWA. It was a high of 72. So we took advantage. Deric and I took Amelia on her first walk in the neighborhood. The dogs of course came along. Divot and Birdie are still loving their baby sis and pretty sure they know Amelia is here to stay. I could kick myself... we didn't get a picture of us on Little A's first walk but I am sure we will have plenty of photo ops in the future. After our walk we decided to go out for a late lunch. We went to one of our favorite spots... Market Place. And again... no picture. What kind of mom am I?? I guess I need to just put my small camera in the diaper bag. I told myself a million times to put in in there but haven't yet.

This morning we said our goodbyes to Deric's mom. She has been here all week to help out and snuggle with Amelia. It was nice to have her here. We will miss both our families but hopefully we will be making a trip north soon. I know the grandmas and aunties will want us to come asap! Also my sister-in-law and her family will get to meet Little A then. I am sure Amelia's cousins Nikohl and Nate will be so happy to see her. We have been emailing them video's of Amelia. The kids seem to really enjoy them, and it makes the distance apart not seem as bad.

Amelia was putting on a show for Grandma Linda. She was being so funny. Amelia makes the funniest noises and faces .....so dramatic. We all three were cracking up at her. Here are a few pictures Deric captured while we were trying to get a good picture of Amelia with Grandma Linda.

Although we will miss having family here with us, Deric and I are ready to get into a normal schedule. I am ready to spend my days with her. I am going to try to get as much Amelia and mommy time as I can. I am already not wanting to go back to work and I still have 7 weeks at home!

We are spending our Sunday relaxing as a family of 3 and it couldn't be any better. I am so in love with our little princess and couldn't be more in love with her wonderful Daddy. Deric is amazing with Amelia and has taken to fatherhood like a pro! I am so blessed and thank God everyday for our little family.

I know my blog has turned into a full blown out mommy blog but I am ok with that. This is how our families will be able to keep up with our growing girl.
I know she is only 10 days old but she already looks so different. Deric mentioned the other day that she doesn't look like a newborn anymore. I disagree.Yes, she looks a bit different but she is still tiny. Amelia has the best face expressions. I can just sit and stare at her. She cracks me up. If I start kissing on her face a bunch she puts her hand up like she is telling me to stop. It is kinda sad but funny. Sometimes she will be looking right at me and give me the best smiles. She has a little dimple in her left cheek. I can't tell if she has one on the other side too... usually she sports an "Elvis" lip! Here is an example of Amelia holding her hand up. I kept kissing her this morning.

She looks so cute in her kitty outfit her Aunt Jen got her! This outfit Jen bought the day we found out we were having a girl.
Amelia's eyes are such a dark blue right now. I am praying they stay a shade of blue. They are almost a sapphire blue now.So pretty... bright and sparkle. This little outfit below I just love! She wore it when I went to the doctors. She just looked so comfy in it.

Yesterday, I got out Amelia's play mat. I know she is still a little young for it but she was so alert I had to see what she did. She laid under it for a good 10 minutes and watched the lights and listen to the music. She really seemed to enjoyed it. I am sure she will be spending some fun times under it in the future!

Be prepared to see somewhat of a post everyday or every other day because her Aunt Jen can't go one day without a picture! So here you go Jen.... more pics for you!

Amelia's newborn pictures

Candace stopped by today to give us the cd of Amelia's newborn photos. They are all super cute! I am so thankful to have such a talented friend!!

I am planning on getting a couple of them printed out on to a canvas. I just have to decided what size and where I want to hang them up. But there is no doubt that our house will be plastered with pictures of our princess!!
We have been good. Amelia is still sleeping and eating within a 3 or 4 hour schedule. I am very pleased about that! I am getting a lot more sleep than what I thought I would. Deric's mom is here for the week. We have just been hanging out since we aren't getting Amelia out and about. I am getting a little stir crazy but I am not leaving my girl. I just can't seem to leave her yet... she is not even 2 weeks old!  We did go to my doctors appointment yesterday and took Amelia. Dr.Seale and her nurse Amanda asked me to bring Amelia along. It was nice to show off our baby. I couldn't feel more proud of her!

One Week Old

Amelia is one week old today! It is hard to believe that a week has already gone by. This has been by far the best week of my life. Amelia is just a wonderful baby and we couldn't be more blessed. I thank God everyday for letting us be her parents. He has answered my prayers and I couldn't be more thankful.
We took a picture of Amelia right at 1:59 p.m today in honor of her one week old birthday!

I love the little looks Amelia makes. She has the funniest expressions! She ceases to amazing me everyday. I could just stare at her all day long. I have no idea how I am ever going to be able to leave her!
Today I had a great surprise. After I showered I noticed I didn't have any more "comfy" pants clean. I have lived in them last week. So I decided I would just "try" to get my real jeans on. And to much of my surprise the fit!  I was so shocked! I am not going to hold my breathe... maybe the pair I fit were stretch out. I am not for sure if I washed them before I put them away for the last 9 months! But I can tell you this... I felt so good about myself! I figured it would take at least a few months to get my huge belly to go down!

Candace got some more pictures back to us today. They turned out so great! I got all teary eyed when I first saw them. Candace captured such amazing pictures of our Angel and I couldn't be more happy about them. I am sure I am going to have to clear off the biggest wall in our living room and hang ALL of her photos up! And yes to our  family..... We will get you copies of the ones you want... just email or call me!
